AimBots

I just signed on to AIM today and saw:

Is this part of AOL’s attempt to improve their image, by giving me new buddies (albeit virtual ones)? I’m so thrilled.

    Yeah, I thought that was a winner, too. I mean, I realize their core business is starting to look a little thin, but come on… Is connecting a moviefone bot to every AIM client really going to make the difference for them?

    And will shoppingbuddy help me find the best deals on the Hello Kitty vibrator? Somehow, I don’t think so…

    New friends from AOL

    What’s this, I start up my IM client that is running on my OS on my Thinkpad and I am greeted by a friendly system message that I now have 2 new buddies. Well, 4 buddies to exact as I have one account with AIM and one account with dot mac.
